A little 1920's Glamour

I know I promised people around me that I wouldn't think about work whilst I was away, but for me blogging isn't really work, it's more of a means of release if I'm being totally honest! Hence, why I make time for it even though I am technically on holiday!

Today I want to share something very pretty, rather romantic atmospherically and something that feels a little bit magical - in the same way that having some time to relax at home is feeling, I guess?!

This time I'm taking a trip back in time, as I've been thinking about the Retro Rewind event that has been taking place in SL and that closes on the 12th, and I slip back in time to the roaring 20's. A time of glamour and depression all rolled into one decade, a time when Art Deco was the height of fashion...

I chose an amazing dress from the event to share with you, something so pretty but something that I'd never normally choose too. It gave me the chance to slip into a fantasy character that would have felt right at home in a 1920's gangster family. She oozes glamour and elegance. The dress is the Evening Dress from Sakide - which you can pick up at the Retro Rewind until October 15th - and I accessorized it with a cute Crochet Choker from (Yummy) and a wig that Wasabi Pills made a long time ago which is perfect for the era.

A glamorous look needs a glamorous location to be seen in. The location I chose was perfect, though nothing of the mobster feel really, but the glitz I was looking for could be found at The Outer Garden!

Still for now I have done with the glamour I think, it's time to slip into my PJs and curl up warm and cosy...

Staying at the Hotel

I've checked out of RL and into the hotel of Mum and Dad... I'm finally away from everything that is normal everyday RL and am on holiday visiting the UK and my family! It's been a long time coming but I am sooooooo Happy to have finally taken a bit of a break. Not that it means I will be taking a break from blogging, as I have plenty of things in store to share with you over the next week - I was prepared lol I'm that addicted - but blogging might be a little sporadic as I'm going to be busy with the family... Just warning you!

Still for now, as I said, out of the usual everyday RL situation and into the hotel of Mum and Dad!

I am checking Rudh into a hotel too, the one at Elysium City of Templemore to be exact, of course she as per usual is doing things in a much more glamorous way than I ever would.

She is always willing to wear a lot less clothes than I would too. This dress is a prime example of that, the Kaithleen's Leather Open Dress to be exact.

I've glammed it up a little for this lovely hotel by adding a simple hairstyle from Magika and a pearl collar from Kibitz called Sasha - which you too can get your hands on at The Fantasy Collective until October 15th - but you know Rudh by now, no matter how chic the look could be, she makes it look more like living dead doll attire.

For now I'm going to dinner at this hotel's lovely restaurant... Meals by Momma!!!

Looking cute is a MUST when taking out the Trash!

Tidying the house, getting ready for my trip to the UK to visit my parents and man is it hard work to pack anything!?! I am really not good at being organised in RL... I cannot find things I need and instead find things I don't ending up sitting around looking at them thinking "Oh I needed this a few weeks ago!" It's giving me the mother and father of all headaches, something I really could do without, so I'm taking a break to talk to you! 
I feel like sharing something pretty, a pretty outfit that is perfect for the sudden rush of cold Autumn weather... 

This outfit comprises of two cute items that Petite Mort has available at the latest round of Tres Chic - and yes I know the event has been open for a while, but think of it this way, you might have forgotten or missed seeing this outfit and at least now the lag should be less, right? 
Petite Mort has made these adorable Chenille Sweaters and Hand Painted Leather Skirts, which you come in a variety of different Autumnal colours, and are perfect for mixing and matching! It seemed to match perfectly with the Bernadette Hair from Truth... So cute with the little beret style hat! 
Anyway a girl has to look cute for taking the trash out right, you never know who you are going to bump into!

City Girl Farmer

Autumn is my favourite season, and I find myself getting so wrapped up in the Halloween spirit as it really makes my Living Dead Doll feel happy... Yet I mustn't forget all those other things that I love about Autumn. This time of year is awesome! The colours, the fact that you can snuggle up warm and cosy, and the chill in the air all make me feel like a very happy Rudh!
Secondlife changes season as easily as RL seems to, and we have slipped into many Fall colours and settings... So many people catch the Autumn Fever and SL becomes a wash with firey colours... There are so many places to explore before the season changes again... One of these locations that is SO worth a visit is the sim that is home to The Hive...

Shopping and a gorgeous Autumnal Sim to explore, it's a great combination to make a girl happy!
I absolutely loved exploring the sim, but I have to say I stuck out like a sore thumb LOL, I had that whole Autumn look for a chic city girl on, and it didn't really fit with the rural vibe... Still least it got a smile out of me!
The majority of this outfit - including the bag - is a Zenith release available at Kustom9 until October 10th. I warn you though, it's a Gacha collection, so approach with caution, but it's a really curte set and I am glad I had a go at winning the bits I wanted! Finishing my City Girl in the Autumn look I pulled on a cute wig complete with the Armelle hair from Truth, and it was then just a case of exploring the farm but watching out for any animal mess!
Gotta love a day at the farm, and this farm is really cute...

The Girl in Pet Semetary - A Gators MC Maze Special!

Well we finally did it! It's here, it's open to the public and it's better than any we've had in years gone by. The MC worked super hard and pulled out all of the stops this year to create something devious and scary, and so far everyone seems to be loving it... It's a dark haunted place full of the odd scare and even some very special VIP characters that you may well recognise, so if you're looking for something fun to do - although I know there are HEAPS of things to do - maybe you want to check out the Gators MC 4th Annual Halloween Event!
Of course for me Halloween is the best time of the year to play dress up... There are so many new events opening that appeal to my darker Dead Doll side that I cannot help myself but be overly excited! I'm like a kid in a Candy Store or a teenage girl with VIP access to  the latest teen idols - squealing with excitment and running around like a headless chicken in case you were wondering! Having the maze for me is a bonus as I have ready made horror sets at my fingertips LOL...

The first of these "sets" is actually the maze entrace... Pet Semetary is our opening location this year and instead of scary animals - with the exception of the odd Gator - you may well find that there are more parties than nasties here this year.
My first dead girl look was something that kinda paired with HellBone chosen outfit... We were the keepers of the Semetary - he a monstrous undertaker, me the dead girl that collected the pets, and I was followed everywhere by a little black cat!
I have to admit that for me and my little Dead Doll look this is fairly simple lol... I fell head over heels in love with the new Besom hair called "New Girl" - which is available now at SALEM, an event that is by far one of my favourite seasonal shopping events this year - and the whole outfit was built around it... It went well withe dress I found - an oldie but still a goodie - from Corvus, coated with blood, lots and lots of blood, and a Noose from Remarkable Oblivion.
Then I took the deadly kitten - from Jian - that is awakend by Pet Semetary for a walk through the graveyard, before heading into the dark...
Dare you "Get Bitten in the Dark!", or are you too chicken?! You never know who you will meet in the Pet Semetary Catacombs!

OMG Sports?!

Its nearly the weekend, and it's nearly the start of the 2016 Gators MC Halloween Maze Event, but I think today I am going to try and enjoy the calm before the virtual storm as I have to play hostess and guide around the huge maze and horror rooms we have created... I'm really excited about opening the event, but actually I am more excited for all of the Horrorific events which are coming in the next few days... My inner darkside is already jumping for joy, so please expect lots more blood and guts and gore over the next few weeks... 
Till then however, I plan on taking things a little easy... Maybe doing something silly, maybe playing some sports, something to get the adrenaline going... Something to keep me entertained!!!

I'm surprising myself by suggesting sport here, there's nothing that I ever could say I love about Sport... I used to love playing Rugby when I was younger but now, not so much... Yet I couldn't resist some down time, and this pose was crying out to me to play basketball...

Now as I admit that I am NOT a sporty person at all, when it came to finding an outfit for this pose I was stumped...UNTIL I found the most awesome and very Rudhish pair of Legwarmer Shorts from Vinyl at the current round of Tres Chic.After that it was plain sailing, a shirt to match, and I couldn't resist this awesome shirt from imbue that's decorated with B**bs, and I was ready for some sports-ish activity LOL...

Places for a Good Book

Today is cold and windy in Holland, with smatterings of rain showers... Some people might not be too happy with that but I am euphoric... I LOVE AUTUMN and it's feeling like it's finally arrived! Lots of cool weather to follow I hope, lots of wrapping up warm and hiding from the cold, and all the good stuff that Autumn - or Fall for the Americans out there - brings. 
One of my favourite things to do in the Autumn - and in the Winter too - is curl up with a good book... I love to read all different kinds of things though I admit that romance and fantasy top my reading list, and I love nothing better than a cosy place to curl up and read... 
Have some pretty pictures to share today, I've been trying to take shots of furniture and décor as the focus - I have a LOT of respect for the people that take pictures like this all the time - I'm so not good at it LOL... 
My first attempt at Décor photography is a place that would be amazing to read fantasy stories... 

A gorgeous Autumn forest location, where books and candles bring the fairytales to life... 
Created using SAYO "Pages of Flight" Throne, and some very pretty candles from Second Spaces, this place is the perfect place to read fairy tales - maybe something like the abandoned Toiz "Autumn Fairy Story Book". 
My second picture is a man's work place... Maybe it's a good place while he's working quietly to read some steamy romance? 

Created using items from nefarious.invention's current Arcade Gacha collection, which by the way closes on September 30th - I love the snuggly feel to this room. It's somewhere that my Dad or Grandad may have worked when I was little, with a beaten old leather chair in the corner. I can almost feel that the air smells of wood, gasoline or even on the odd occasion whisky... 
Seeing these cosy places makes me want to curl up with a book, so for today I am going to disappear, I just want to know, where would you like to curl up and read?
