Lessons in a Dead Doll's Decorating!

Don't Open, Dead Inside... Not sure if that's in reference to me or the house that I find myself in. Not too sure either if it's the SL me - the living dead dolly - or the RL me - the one that is "dead" tired! Though a feeling of dead definitely has me in it's grip this morning. I cannot wake up, even though I have been at work for 2 hours I still feel like I am half asleep - maybe I can blame it on the fact that it's hibernating season?!
Yet Rudh has always been one to take things literally, so Dead means Dead... She's a living dead doll so this comes naturally to her, but when she's allowed to be her true self, she really goes to town with it... Take decorating for example...

If you ask Living Dead Doll Rudh to decorate, THIS is what happens! BLOOD becomes the natural paint used in her decorating process, and as you can see the walls, rugs and even floor hangings are smeared with the stuff. Never mind the large ruckle in the carpet, she's just hiding her "paint can" - outta sight, outta mind right?! Adding a few meat hooks and a barrel of human body part waste gives the room that homely feel!
Of course though she needed an outfit to match, and this was one of her outfits that she wore at a party for now closed Gator Maze. A True Dead Dolly Outfit including a Bloody Maid Dress - from ILAYA - and some horrifying Bloody Bandages - from Astralia that you can still grab at the Bloody Horror Fair until November 10th. While on the subject of the Bloody Horror Fair, you need to take a look at this adorable little teddy bear, the Nightmare Undead Bear - from [ abrasive ] - is one of a collection that is available at the fair and he's just SO CUTE! I think Rudh will have to go back to the Bloody Horror Fair to get some more - they are calling me back!
In fact, I'm going to do that now, so maybe I will see you there, and you can compliment me on the way I decorate using such natural products LOL... Halloween may be over but there is blood and gore still to come, the Living Dead Doll Rudh demands it!

Unlace Me?!

What with the busy Halloween period and the amazing releases that have been on offer this past month I am feeling a little like I've bottled one of the sides of me up in my head and now she's bursting to get out... Recently we've seen the crazy and the cute but the somewhat kinky girl has been trapped inside for too long and she needs some breathing space! Saying that it makes me sound like I have a disorder or something - trust me that's not the case but SL would be much less interesting if I couldn't create fun characters for blogging right?! 
So today the somewhat naughty, slightly kinky bird girl is being let off the leash and is allowed to venture out to play... What an outfit to make a come back in?!

There is so much in the way of laced up clothing available in SL at the moment that it becomes hard to choose between one thing and another, yet when I saw this skirt from [I<3F] I knew I needed just a few extra lace up pieces in my hoard!
This skirt is something that my inner kinky girl got very excited about, and once I'd found the perfect top to match - a Leah Lace Up Shirt from Hilly Haalan - and a similarly laced up pair of boots - from Essenz - she was practically giddy! I just needed somewhere dark and seductive to show something like this off... Thank heavens for Shhh!! After Dark!

Remembering Gunpowder Plots!

Tis November 5th, and for those of you that have no idea about the significance in British History I think perhaps I should share with you a little poem that I've known since I as at school... 

Remember, remember! 

The fifth of November, 

The Gunpowder treason and plot; 

I know of no reason 

Why the Gunpowder treason 

Should ever be forgot!

The Gunpowder Plot of 1605 was an attempt to blow up the British Houses of Parliament and kill the then King, James I of England. It is always remembered on November 5th with the burning of a Guy Faulkes - the man charged with guarding the gunpowder that was hung for his crimes - doll and a mass of fireworks.
I'm not really keen on fireworks - long story - so today I will remember the plot in a different way, sitting in a graveyard! 

Sometimes graveyards are the best place for remembrance right? I mean they are the last resting places of the dead souls of the bodies buried within. The graveyard at the Woodbury Falls location is very pretty, and a perfect place to remember the dead, even someone like Guy Faulkes deserves to be though of! 
Maybe they aren't the best places to discuss fashion, but what the hell I'm going to talk about my outfit while I'm here anyway! A dress complete with gloves - from Dead Dollz - and a pair of CandyDoll boots make up my outfit today. I have a wig styled by the awesome Wasabi Pills - which has become one of my new favourite hairstyles - and a pair of glasses that I can still just about see through and refuse to give up on because they are my Good Old Glasses from Izzie's which you can grab until the end of today at the last day of the Geeks'N'Nerds Fair! 
Now, let's have a moment of silence to remember the Guy while I dig around in my hoard to find some sparklers?!

Decorating for a Geeky Game Night

FRIDAY! FRIDAY! FRIDAY! The day that the weekend officially starts is HERE!!! Still have to get through a 12 hour work day but HEY IT'S FRIDAY!!! Glad that this week is almost over, I mean it's not been a bad week as weeks go but still tomorrow is a day for laying in a little later and maybe doing something fun, like my favourite of weekend activities - rummaging through second hand stores looking for treasures!
Friday though should be all about fun, perhaps I will persuade the MC to have a Friday Night Game Night or something?! Games nights could be fun, I LOVE Cards Against Humanity - but that's because I'm a little depraved LOL - and although I was never into games like Dungeons and Dragons perhaps that might even be fun too?!

Now OK I have admitted that I have never played anything like Dungeons and Dragons BUT with the Geeks'N'Nerds Fair 2016 coming to a close tomorrow, there was just a little time left for me to creatively decorate the perfect geeky games room...
Now as I have warned you before I am really not so used to taking pictures of decor only, so bear with me on this but I think I did an OK job!
All of the items - the building aside - are available at the Geeks'N'Nerds Fair that closes tomorrow, so you still have a little time to get your geek or nerd on...
The game play table is part of the Games Master Set from Fiasco and it includes all the table, the chairs and the decor that litters the table top, with the exception of Winnie's Spellbook - from Violetility - that is being used as a reference guide! The computer and the desk it sits on are from [ht:home] and I added a few little touches of decoration to make things look pretty such as the HEXtraordinary lamp and the BoOgErS Herry Perter Action Beebles - that my RL sister saw and got super excited about because she is a freak for Harry Potter! Some geekish art from peaches on the walls and my gaming room was ready...
All I need now is some fizzy drinks - or sodas as non-Brits might say - in a cooler and some crisps - or chips again for the non-Brits hehe - and my Gaming party is ready... Anyone fancy a game?

Exploring a Burtonesque World

Well last night was great, I'm not sure if you have seen it but I actually decided to share a little of my RL with you all last night and posted a picture that I took at a RL gig into my Flickr account. This morning though I am paying the price for that concert going addiction that I have because oh my gah I was suffering all night with terrible cramp in BOTH legs!
Still this morning, waking up with a cup of tea and some toast I feel a little bit like I was in a different world last night. The band that I went to see was a band called Lordi - I posted a picture of the lead singer on Flickr last night - and they are a little Monstrous! Demonic Zombies that play some great music and put on a fun show! So you will have to excuse me for feeling like I'm in another world right now!

OK the world that Rudh is in is far from Demonic, but this Burtonesque world is still just as awesome. You can find this Burtonesque location at my favourite photo location - WHOLE WHEAT - where I really think that Tim Burton would feel they have done him proud!
To fit with the location however, I needed something equally interesting to wear, and I got very lucky with this amazing outfit from Elegance Boutique - which I picked up the current round of Cosmopolitan. Luckily I was able to accessorise the bow of this Strange and Unusal Exile Hair to match!! It was like an outfit that was meant to be together... 
Together with my Familiar Cat - from PSYCHO.Byts for Hocus Pocus - I am ready to explore this strange new world, I just wish work wouldn't be so rude as to get in the way!!

The Road to Nowhere

Every year I get so very excited about one event in particular that gets me oh-so-very excited. Last year I was a little disappointed in the theme - I felt it was a bit lacking and kinda less immersive than it had been in previous years, but this year was GREAT. 
I'm not sure how long it runs for but you should still have time, and if you have a spare 50L burning a hole in your pocket I promise you this isn't a waste of money... Go and check out the Pulse Games and Sn@tch event for this year - NOWHERE! 

Hinting on a theme that is one of my true phobias I was finding myself genuinely scared - luckily due to the fact that this has always been date night for me and my bestie I had not one but two knights in shining armour to protect me! 
I'm not going to go into too many details but the story starts as "You are a motorist who wakes up after a bad car accident on the side of an unknown highway. You do not remember who you are or why you are here. You must walk the dark highway to find help and find out who you are"- quoted from the information provided by the creation team -  and you're on the road to Nowhere!
My Halloween Costume this year seemed perfect for the story - I was dressed as a normal teenage girl, because well I'm usually a Dead Doll and teenage girls are scary! Maybe I shouldn't have been texting while driving?!

Rudhie de los Muertos

After Halloween comes the Day of the Dead - although I know the festival stretches from October 31st till November 2nd, so don't be mad at me for my statement LOL - the day that those of a Mexican culture celebrate the dead... Gone are the dark, depraved and scary of yesterday's Halloween events and in it's place are the bright Sugar Skulls, flowers and the burst of colour that marks a celebration of the lives that are being remembered!
Now I LOVE the dark and macabre events of Halloween but the inner rainbow freak is screaming for joy today as its all about colours...

I'd seen this photo location set up at my favourite spot for taking pictures in - the WHOLE WHEAT Landscaping & Creation location - and as soon as I remembered the date I was like a kid in a candy store dancing around there taking photos of myself in all kinds of Dia de los Muertos style poses!
Now I know that a lot of people focus on the Sugar Skulls when they think of the Day of the Dead, but for this once I've decided that flowers and skulls are the way to go! When I combined this amazing Southern Magnolia Wreath - from LODE who I feel make some of the best flowers in SL - with the cool but cute Human Skull Mask from PSYCHO.Byts - that you can grab at the Bloody Horror Fair until November 10th - I was a little excited, add to that the Halloween Group Gift Hair from Wasabi Pills and Rudh was a very very happy little dolly...
I mean she was happy anyway, being a Living Dead Dolly but today it's Dia de los Muertos and she's going to live it up rainbow style!!!
