Books and Cats, What more could I want?

This year I've been saying over and over again, that I want to read more. I've been following people I know on Facebook for their recommendations, I'm immersing myself in Booktok - the TikTok of books - and have joined GoodReads to set myself a reading goal and keep track of new releases, recommendations and the books that I HAVE read... I'll keep updating my lists and making sure I know the things I want to read... 

Rudh isn't much of a reader, preferring to spend her time taking pictures and shopping... Though recently she's found herself a collection of Banter Books, with titles like "100 Ways to eat Cock", "The Inconspicuous Guide to Perving Profiles" and "Unyielding Melancholy" - this collection can be grabbed from Aardvark at the current round of The Men's Department until January 31st - all of which will prove to no doubt be interesting reading material... She's saving the book called "101 Ways to Play with your Pussy", unti she's managed to find a way to wrangle the cats into one room in the hopes that they get along...

A Different Kind of Chuckie

I was talking to my sister earlier on today and we were reminiscing over things we loved from our childhood... Things like books, movies and television shows, talking silliness and remembering all different things that we could quote word for word... There were so many cartoons that I loved, I think that I am going to have to see about re-watching some of them again. Sesame Street when I was really little, and then loads of other cartoons came and went, but one show I loved so much was the Rugrats... 

I loved all of the characters, though I always had a firm favourite... Chuckie... I've often been heard telling my hubby that he has HIS Chucky and I have mine... Mine was a lot sweeter, a lot less agressive, and perhaps a little more like me with a case of anxiety that matches my own...
I found a costume - created by Rosary, who made a set of all of the characters not just Chuckie - and couldn't resist slipping into a character that matches my mood. Playing in a room of a house that looks remarkably like my parents home building with letter blocks and hanging around with my best friend teddy - who comes from kotte if you're interested - when I looked over to the Reptar Wagon - which is in fact the Cartoon Dino Wagon from Starries - someone is tempting me to go for a ride. I'm not allowed to drive the wagon without Tommy Pickles though, stop trying to lure me in Reptar...

What's for Breakfast?

I am in the middle of having a few days off that were unplanned but welcomed and honestly I'm kinda happy to be lolling about at home. I haven't been out of my Pyjamas for a few days, and when I'm not doing things like cooking or sitting around playing with silly things on SL, I'm hiding in bed under a blanket as the weather has changed and it's FREEZING... 

Rudh decided to take a leaf out of my book today, she's booked herself into a into a getaway in Tofino - a Tofino Getaway Backdrop from Synnergy.Tavis - for a luxury weekend of watching the snow fall out the window at the ski-lodge. Unfortunately they didn't tell me that the disco that they hold on the weekends could be heard through the window and so my peaceful night's sleep was less than restful... 
Waking in the morning, with a gorgeous man on a Wiggly Pillow - from Tardfish available at the mainstore - I adjusted my pyjamas to answer the door as they brought me breakfast in bed... They said it was provided free with the room. You'd think that a fancy hotel would lay on something delicious, breakfast turned out to be Peanut Btter Puffs cereal and milk, which is just Junk Food really, and two different coffees, one hot one cold, served in to go cups on a little wooden tray... Not what I'd expected, tasted yum, but perhaps it's the reason for my tired grumpy mood and the reason that today "I'm a Happy Ray of Fucking Sunshine".

OI, Where's My Cake?!

It's still very early into the new year and people I know are still working on their New Year's Resolutions. I never actually made any for myself, although I DID have some plans to do things that made me happy and so far I am managing to enjoy the things I planned. I listen to all of the crazy goals and plans that friends in both RL and SL have, and a lot of people are focusing on losing weight and exercise... I admit that when I'm running around at work, lifting heavy weight and constantly on my feet, exercise is the last thing on my mind... Though Rudh figured that she'd give things a little bit of a go... YOGA... 

She went all in this time, never doing things by halves, and after spending a fortune on setting up a work out space for her at home, filling it with exercise balls, dumbells and yoga mats - from collections by dust bunny, lmndrp and CHEZ MOI... She's dressed herself in a suitably sporty but still more than a little cute, in some leggings from Mug and a top from Palette, and she's ready to go... 
Never one for wanting to work out on her own, she invited a group of fluffy friends over to come and join in the workout party... They are all a group of Little Fit Bunnies - a release from Aardvark at the current sporty round of Anthem until January 27th - and while we were all trying to work out, bending into uncomfortable positions as she attempted to do some yoga poses... It was all going so well until one of those cheeky little bunnies said sod it to exercise, and went in search of the most delicious Sweet Winter Black Forest Cake - from vespertine - covered in chocolate and cream and a little cherry on top... Now I want that, exercise can wait...

Crystal Fae Make Fireworks...

First time this year I've had a chance to sit back and work on something pretty and fantastical and sparkly... 
I'm reminded me of the fireworks that had lit the sky as pretty sparkles, crystals of chemicals that create the colourful sparks... I don't mind fireworks IF they are far enough away that I cannot hear them... 
I wondered what magical being would be involved with the sparkles, that is until I met her under the microscope on the tip of a rocket... 

The Crystal Fire Fae is a dangerous little being, one of the more risky of the fae folk... She has a temper and will spark into a rage whenever she felt like it. She has sparks, she guards the chemicals that will be lighting the sky and waiting for the exact moment that the light will wow the people watching below... 
On a backdrop of Sodalsia - a backdrop from The Bearded Guy - the floating Crystal glows surrounded by it's firey counterparts, the skeletons of fae that have tried to take control magically murdered and the crystalisation occurs... 
The crystals protector radiates a red glow - the Crystal Fairy look comes in multiple colours from Forest Fantasy Store, available now until January 20th at Winter's Hollow - while crystals in other colours dance around her ready to assist her with the explosion that is to come...

Plans to Travel

Along with other things that I want to do with myself this year, I've decided that I need to do myself a favour and get off the platform I hermit on and explore more of Second Life. I like a lot of bloggers and designers - and lots of other people out there - seem to spend more than my fair share of time hiding on a platform taking pictures and only venture out to pick up things in sales and events... This year I plan on making a big effort to get myself out and about and explore new places... It's time to pack my bags and go exploring... 

I got myself all glammed up, in the earliest days of flying things were considered prestige and privilege, drinking champagne and rather dressing for comfort, dressing for chic glamour... 
I'm going to head out on a private plane that I'll board at the Synnergy.Tavis Aircraft Hanger - which is a backdrop available at the mainstore - with my case and a hat to protectme from any sunshine. I'll pull a cardigan over my shoulders - from C'est La Vie - to keep me warm, but not to cover the super chic Chisa Tube Top - an older release now from everfaery - so that I can feel glam like the flight passengers of the past... 
Now I'm going to explore, I'm going to seek out some of the amazing new and wonderful places that are shown on Flickr, Facebook and in the Destination Guide... Postcards will be sent hehe...

Cake Baking and Plan Making

Welcome to 2024 and a very Happy New Year to all my darling friends, followers and even those that may read my blog just to be a bit stalkerish - I'm laughing as I write that because I'm definitely not cool enough for anyone to want to stalk me lol... Last night was a bit crap for me and my family, my poor little puppy is terrifed of fireworks and the NL seems bonkers about them... Today has been a very leisurely, lazy one. A chance to sit back, fill in my new diary and make some plans for the year ahead...

It's also time for me to have a think back about last year and so the first post of the year tends to get a little deep sometimes... 
The past year has been another rollercoaster of a year. I stepped up in my RL work and got myself a promotion to assistant manager, it's been a busy time learning all the behind the scenes stuff but definitely got me out of a rut that I was stuck in. Hubby spent the last few weeks of the year at home sick and is waiting for an operation to have his gall bladder removed. I am missing my family in the UK, especially since they spent Christmas together, but troubles that have affected the family have somewhat subsided and things are ooking up... I guess all things considered, things are positive for me and my family... 
Now to look forward and I'm going to do so with a little trepidation... I don't want to risk jinxing myself or causing the things I want to go wrong... 
I'll be graduating the cheesy academy in June - a special time this year since it's the companies 50th year and I'll be in the class of that special year... 
I've decided to make changes in my RL that see me focusing more on myself and aiming for some 'Me' time. It guess it's kinda like a New Years Resolution, although I won't be calling it that since resolutions are so easily broken. I want to read more, I've started a challenge on Goodreads with a goal of 45! I wonder if I'm being too overly ambitious... I want to do more things like baking or cooking and testing new recipies. I want to drive more, since I've become terribly bad at it and I'm much more willing to be the passenger since Hell likes to drive. I want to get better at knitting, I'll aim to knit a blanket, maybe something with granny squares like Grandma used to knit... I want to improve my Second Life picture taking skills and work on my skills as a blogger and photographer and maybe if I'm lucky try to get myself some new sponsors - if anyone is out there and looking for bloggers lol... 
OH AND this year is my 10 year wedding anniversary with HellBone...
