30 Days of Gratitude - Day 11

What am I greatful for today;

1) My Tidy Inventory... It seems that there has been a massive spring cleaning bug that has taken over SL at the moment. I am hearing about so many people sorting their inventories, I just thank goodness mine has always been well organised like those that are being listed with tutorials... I have been doing that kinda cleaning for a long while now, almost since I started and it's great to know that I don't need to do that now hehe!!! Sorry for those of you that are stuck sorting your inventories but it is worth it in the end TRUST ME! 

2) Those random LOL moments... From finding pictures of Vix wearing the coolest facelight ever (pictured) to making Niki pass out over the fact that her and I were having a conversation about Hell being able to handle 4 boobies, today has been a barrel of LOL and I have enjoyed every minute of it!

3) Looking at all the pretty seashell peach outfits... I have taken some time out with a cuppa tea today to sit and blog read, just looking at all the pretty that everyone is coming up with is awesome.

4) The New Umbrella Boat/Seat from LISP Bazaar for Collabor88... I don't often buy things from C88 as it doesn't always appeal to me style wise, but I couldn't resist this Umbrella Sea or Boat or whatever it is. It fits perfectly with my "Wendy House"!

5) Vix's interview going well... Vix had a RL interview today that seemed to go well for her, when you add that weird coincidence of her getting an interview in the same week as I have one, and the fact that Fledge went to the store when she came to Amsterdam before I knew her,  that I have the interview in on Friday, it kinda feels a bit like Serendipity... Maybe?

30 Days of Gratitiude - Day 10

What am I greatful for today;

1) CHOCOLATE EGGS!

2) Working with a bunch of ladies like the Seraphim Girls (and Mikel)... Never a dull moment goes by with this lot, there is drama sure, but we are such a diverse group of people that wouldn't have ever come together if it hadn't been for Seraphim and they are all a real barrel of crazy fun.OH AND... 3) Being Busy... I love it when I have things to do, doesn't matter whether it is in RL or SL, I just love being busy! It always gives me a real sense of achievement when I can say I managed to get lots of things done!

4) Skull Ice Cream... I took a break from eating chocolate eggs, to be honest they were making me feel a bit sick, and traded them in for Ice Cream... SKULL ICE CREAM from Concrete Flowers in this week's Lazy Sunday! Made by the best Ice Cream maker on the planet!!!

5) Izzy... She forces her way up into my lap for a cuddle at the worst possible moment, but she is still getting bigger and one day that might not be able to happen anymore. She has learnt that if she tosses her head when she lets go of her ball she can play fetch with herself and that is just adorable, and she now gives you her paw when you ask for it, so long as she knows you are holding cookies ready for her!
6) MORE TEA!!!

52WOCC2 - Week 15

Well this week has been a rollercoaster of a week, thing seem to have been going right for Tim and I have my first interview in a long time on Friday, my PC is still giving me crap, it seems like I can't be in SL as well as in Skype I don't think the memory is enough to cope with all the goings on. 

Today though I am dedicating this colour post to one of my newest friends, a friend that I managed to connect with over carousel kitties even though I had been following her blog for a long time... Miss Sama Yalin! 

Sama is a Neko with a fabulous sense of style, that I was lucky enough to bond with over the Intrigue Co Carousel Kitties. She had some that I hadn't been able to win and so, although I was buying them off her at the time, we chatted for a lot longer and it was lovely to finally meet her in an IM in world, much better than just through blog comments.

This week's colour was a weird very, very pale colour and for some reason when I coloured my posing box in said colour it seemed rather cream in tone, matching cream outfits... So I went with that, but what to do, what to do? I needed an interesting idea. The colour struck me, as I was perusing the net looking for inspiration, as similar to Siamese cat fur, so that was the way I went... Siamese Rudh! I called on Sama for an opinion, she is  the most stylish Neko I know, and shall be renamed "The Glamour Puss". (DUDE SAMA that is such a cool name for your superhero identity, but shhhhh dont tell anyone it's you! LOL)

So many kitties and I'm not even allowed one of the breedable ones!!! Lucky really, I hear they are addictive!

30 Days of Gratitude - Day 9

What am I greatful for today; 

1) Being able to tell a friend off and still be loved in return... My friend and I were talking about how he hasn't been well recently. While we were talking it became apparent that he doesn't eat very healthily and rarely eats vegetables (and never eating fruit!), I curtly told him that it might be a reason he has been so ill and the veggies are good for you. Thinking that would make him hate me, I was suprised when he said "Happy to know one of my friends cares enough to yell at me".... Dawwwwww!!! Oh and he shall remain nameless LOL!!

2)My New Teddy Bear... I was given the coolest teddy bear in SL today! I had one in a little version from one of the stores that participated in the Depraved Nation Gacha Event, but whilst I was talking to the stores designer, she gave me one of the big snuggly ones!!! EEEEEH... Thank you miss Iokko!! 

3) Finding an outfit for the Seraphim Photo... The girls, more so than me but I will be kinda taking part, of Seraphim have a big secret that will be put out for the world to see at some point this weekend (we hope?!). I'll talk more about the secret in another post, but for now they wanted a photo of us, as many as possible, for a group shot to announce it. Hard part was we all had to look like bunnies... Took me ages to find an outfit, but I got there in the end, just have to find Rita now! Here, lil paparazzi Rita... Follow the sound of someone wanting to be photographed hehe...
4) Being told I look cute... I had 3 random strangers IM me today to tell me I looked cute out of the blue! Two guys, one of which I spent time helping to shop and the other was just being a total flirt, fun to do but wast gonna go any further, the other was a woman who fell in love with my boots!! Was able to feel great and help people shop... YAY!

5) Skull Ice-creams... I'll make a picture tomorrow to show them off I think they are freaking awesome, more cool stuff straight from the imagination of my bestiepops Lynnieloo and her store, Kosh!

6) TEA!!!

30 Days of Gratitude - Day 8

What am I greatful for today;

1) Waking up in bed next to Hell... It seems like a while since we have been able to wake up together, he's been working night shifts and so I have been vacating the bed at just about the time he is getting into it, it's been like 2 ships passing in the night! 

2) My Interview being postponed... I was as nervous as all hell this morning, I didn't sleep very well last night and although she rang at the last minute to change the interview day it let me beathe a sigh of relief to get my thoughts together better... 

3) Spending time chatting on the phone with a friend... I haven't seen this friend for a long time now, and it was great to get back to chatting with her. She used to be one of those people I spent a lot of time with in the past, and so talking to her again felt good.
4) A cuppa!!!!

30 Days of Gratitude - Day 7

What am I greatful for today; 

1) Finding a cute outfit... I love playing in my SL closet, and finding something cute to wear always brings a smile to my face... what do you think? Cute or not? Be honest now hehe...

2) Taking some time out... Today I got to put some more interesting things out in my girlie Wendy house I call home in SL. I haven't finished decorating even though we've been living there for almost three months lol... But I got to play at home and that made me feel good inside!
3) A Lucky Streak?... Hell seems to be on a lucky streak at the moment, hope that doesn't end as I write this, but this morning he came home from work and told me he won a CD on the radio from the "next big thing" Dutch Band called 'Go Back To The Zoo'. Hope this bodes well for tomorrow! 
4 ) Grocery Shopping... I don't mind doing it if you can actually get around the old people that seem to congregate in the aisles or the kid with the screaming habdabs (why don't we use words like that anymore?) on the floor, but when you get home and put things away it always feels nice to see well stocked shelves again... 
5) Clean sheets... I change our bedding far more than is truely necessary, because I love the feeling and smell of clean sheets... MMMM

A Million Hoodies in SL

My sister Fledge was invited to join a group on Flickr called A Million Hoodies in SL. Upon hearing about the idea it sparked my interest, and after seeing her post, although Flickr and I don't really ever work together I felt that this was a cause I would love to get on the bandwagon and support too... 

One for a Million Hoodies in SL! 

As an avid hoodie wearer in RL, this story is both saddening and rather scary. OK the fact that I am a white female, would probably mean that this wouldn't affect me, but it does raise issues. 

The reason behind this campaign is to raise awareness and protest about the shooting of Treyvon Martin, a regular 17 year old guy in America who was shot on his way home from a quick trip to get some skittles, and the handling of the subsequent case thereafter. The shooter, who was a guard for the gated community in which the shooting took place, claimed that Treyvon looked suspicious, yet even after calling the police and being told not to follow him the guard took things into his own hands and took the life of a young man who only went out for some sweets!

This case is now a racial case, Treyvon was black and his shooter, who although arrested initially was let off without anything so much as a warning, was white. Racism is something that I have never understood, I know the history behind it but I guess no matter how much something is fought for, even if something is won there will always be some astigmatism (oooh that big word meaning blurred vision makes me sound smarticle!) attached to it. What it brings to my mind, at the end of the day, is that it is WHITE skin that is the mutuation, however the ins and outs of that get very technical!! 

I will admit that seeing a gang of young men in hoodies lingering around will sometimes have the power to unsettle me, especially at night, but in the early hours of the evening when the guy was alone with a can of ice tea and some skittles... Makes you wonder if this was more about race than the fact there was anything suspicious going on!
