Autumn is upon us, and I am more than a little excited... It seems to have taken a hold in SL a lot faster than RL, but that I'm sure that will change pretty soon and I cannot wait. Until that point in RL though I will sit back and enjoy the Autumnal - or Fall - changes that SL is going through... This weekend is the biggest event that all my friends seem to have been talking about, the seemingly bigger than the UK Royals wedding of Solde and Kris, and to be honest there are things I will be pleased to hear are over... All the talk of weddings is making me twitchy... So for now I am taking a walk through the Fall woods on a bright and sunny - finally - Friday morning... Care to join me?
The woods I found are amazing, but to be honest they don't suprise me... It's the latest in the Pandora's Box of Dreams locations... It's gorgeous! The outfit I wore was possibly NOT the best for wandering through the woods... Heels are never good for that kind of activity, but I LOVE my Candydoll Arabella Boots that much so I sucked it up like a true hero hehe... Plus they looked so cute with my outfit that I'd pulled out of hiding in my wardrobe... The outfit in question is made up of various bits of clothing from the mind behind various popular stores - Tyr Rosenblum... The skirt is one from [Aux] called "A little Foxy", it came with a fox tail for the zipper and the jacket is from another of her stores, [Foxes] in which you can find this gorgeous Aviator Jacket with it's cute t-shirts underneath. I'm happy taking a walk in the woods, I LOVE Autumn... This place is definitely one to check out, so would you like to come for a walk with me?

Songs resonate and stick in your head to fill in the way that you feel about things that are going on around you at times, least that is the way I've always felt. Certain songs stick in my memory as reminders of people and things that have happened... Just a side note to people reading this before I go on... It's a rant... If you don't want to read it the outfit list is at the bottom, and don't forget to check out the song too... It's a good one! I've been reminded of that recently whilst re-listening to some of by Black Veil Brides... There is one song that really sticks in my head and has meaning right now... It's the song Coffin - if you haven't heard it then you can see it here now, aren't you lucky?! - but there is a line in the song that is particularly true about a certain "friend" of mine... "I don't owe you anything, you'll only die a dream forgotten. I've got my pride, so hear me sing..." or in my case enjoy the LOVELY depraved looking photograph that your - to pardon me for using such language in advance - bullshit inspired...
Trust me, in SL it seems easy to root out those people who are fake, and if the person who inspired this post is reading it, you Sir are definitely of the fake variety! To be told something by one of your best and dearest friends, only to have them totally contradict those words when talking to others is one thing, but if that person is another good friend of the person you're bitching about, don't be surprised to find out that the one you're bitching about knows... Just saying! People seem to keep trying to walk all over me, and to be frank I hurt every time... Each time I find myself reverting back into my shell and hiding behind a wall that keeps people out just that little bit more. It's not fair to those I care about I know and I know it affects those people too, but in SL as in RL people need to start paying more attention to those around them... To whom it may concern... This is for you... You tell me that you don't want our friendship to change, and then you start a smear campaign behind my back. You're not worth my time, my SL is for me and the people that actually care. I'm done with your Drama Games! To finish, as promised, because I always like to finish on a high note... Space has never been something that I have been interested in... I mean I LOVE looking at the moon and stars, but I have a bit of a phobia regarding Aliens so I tend to avoid anything space related! Though the death of a much loved Actor, one that I grew up seeing on the television in the background as my mother was a fan, Mr Leonard Nemoy - aka and possibly better known as Spock - in these past few weeks made me think of how sad I will be when other much loved musicians or TV personalities will go... It sounds strange to think of it like that, but when it comes down to it the death of anyone is a sad thing, I never knew these people personally but they became a part of my life in that I grew to enjoy hearing their songs on the radio or seeing their faces on the TV. I still remember how I felt when Kurt Cobain died - as I'm sure many people do - or Robin Williams, for example, but last night I was watching a repeat of a Blue Planet TV Show, one of David Attenborough's programmes and I felt melancholy - for me losing him will be like losing an institution!!! So this one goes out to you Spock, and to all the mourning Trekkies out there too!!
I wanted to create something a little Sci-Fi, without the aliens of course! So it was kinda lucky - almost serendipitous - that the SL Sci-Fi Convention was taking place at the moment that I went location scouting for a photo... I found this amazing booth, by Starbuckk Seraphis of Starland Development Group, at the Convention and knew that I had to use it as my Spock inspired space setting. I just hope they don't mind I was climbing all over their booth! The outfit I chose was something simple-ish - by Rudh standards - and sexy, something that would have been a good second choice for the ladies on board the Starship Enterprise perhaps?! The dress itself comes from SAKIDE and was a release at a past Sci-Fi themed event! Called Leyana, these dresses come with a HUD to customise the band colours and are subtly textured with a very Sci-Fi feeling pattern. I dressed it up with a pair of over the knee Marilyn Boots from Reign - that you can grab yourself at No.21 - then the rest was merely set dressing. For some reason I decided that I wanted to wear the [Aux] Devilish Headband that I'd had collecting dust in my hoard for a while, a simple See No Evil Eye-Patch from Half-Deer and then a pretty but somewhat classy looking collar from Lost Junction as decoration... Lastly I had to wear the [geek.] Prosper Necklace - a group freebie - in a dedication to Spock... Mr. Spock... Live Long and Prosper!
