52WOCC2 - Week 44

It's gonna be a short post as I am sitting behind the PC at my Mum and Dad's house in England... HOME ON A VISIT YAY! SHHHHH I'm not really here, I only flicked my blog open to make sure that I don't miss out on posting a colour hehe!!! 
I had worked on this colour last Sunday as I had to have it ready before I left home, but whilst in the process I was also sorting some of my inventory... At one point I was being driven crazy... See what the power of inventory cleaning can do to a girl?!

Can somebody please flip the switch?

I'm going to spend some time in my RL from tomorrow morning, so I thought that I would write a quick post to let everyone know I hadn't just fallen off the face of the earth!
I cannot wait, I get to see my mum and dad again, and as I haven't seen them since April I am really looking forward to it. Plus it's my grandmother's 80th birthday party this coming weekend so we are going to be going to that too... I am gonna get my hands on all the little things from home I miss - cheese, chocolate, my favourite shower gel, and I know it sounds weird but when you can't easily get them anymore you miss these things more than you realise!
I'll be back Wednesday 31st in time for some Halloween fun, but until then don't miss me too much!!!

52WOCC2 - Week 43

So OK this week's colour was pretty much like waving a flag at me... Screaming something along the lines of "THIS WILL BE EASY TO THINK UP A COSTUME IDEA"... I could have gone with that idea, but then me being me I had to make life a little difficult for myself. 

The amount of ghostly stuff I have in my inventory could possibly be a contender in the "what monster would be easy for me to dress as?" category, ranking in third alongside zombies and vampires LOL - but no this was too easy and it's meant to be a challenge... Note to self - NEXT TIME TAKE GLARINGLY OBVIOUS OPTION!

Still I deferred from the Halloween feeling for just a little while and spent time playing the clouds for something a little different... A kind of rain cloud sprite maybe?

Hungry for a Sandwich

I AM STARVING... It possibly hasn't been helped by the fact that I was playing around with my inventory and found this humungous sandwich from Concrete Flowers... 

It's a real shame that you cannot just go to the local baker and buy a french bread stick in this size, and I'm also pretty positive that you'd need a fridge full of yummy fillings to make a sammich this big actually be filled like this. Looks like something that could come from Subway though to be honest, only I'm sure this would taste SO MUCH BETTER... 
It's also funny how you can be alone for hours and just as you go to make a sandwich the monsters come out to help you eat it... In the case of my RL, trade the little Pink Fuel Monster for an Izzy shaped puppy monster.

Butterflies and Ouija

Have you ever found times when you put something on and it leads to an outfit that is something so different from your normal style yet it makes you feel really happy? 
This outfit was one of those times. Normally I wear something in a similar style, yet I had been talking to Noriko Blackburn of MarieDoll and somehow I'd become a blogger for her store. I will be honest and say that some of the designs she makes wouldn't be my usual choice, but when I was passed a few things to play with, I realised that the style was actually something I had been missing out on. The designs are casual but could be useful in any closet, with a slight hint of boho chic about them, and so the outfit did take me outta my clothing comfort zone - but the results made me smile and I was more than a little happy with the look hehe! 

Not feeling totally sure about the look I had on, I don't know if it was the hair being so different or the colour on me, I had to find out from somewhere people would be honest hehe... I grabbed my Ouija board and headed out into a peaceful spot in the graveyard to ask for an opinion! I think the butterflies were the answer I was looking for!

Does anyone want to pile me?

One of the things that I have been seeing turn up fairly regularly now on Flickr are "Pile Ups", and it had me intrigued. 
Basically a pile up seems to start out as a photo of yourself on a plain background that people can then edit and manipulate to create pretty photos. I've seen some that are amazing, and others that show a lot of effort and care has been put into the pictures... I will admit that I am in awe... 
Now doing this feels a little cheeky, but I wanted to see if other people would be interested in creating a pile up of me... 

The photo is something silly and fun that I put together, but I really would love to see where anyone would take this photo. I feel kinda strange putting it out there, it's almost like being naked - I mean people could do anything with the photo, not that I think they would want to waste their time making it and me look bad, but just that it is a strange kind of exposure that you don't seem to get with already processed photos.
Normally when I post a picture of me, it's complete and the way I want to portray myself, this is something else... Ya know what I mean? 
Still I leave myself in anyone who is interested in piling me up's capable hands, and if anyone does want to play with it then I cannot wait to see the results. I think that I might work on it myself and see how it compares to how other people view me LOL, but first I think I am going to work on some others - test the water a little! Push myself, Challenge myself and finally get to stop looking at Rudh for just a little while hehe!

Who's a Cute Evil Dolly?

That's right... ME... LOL well OK I was, for just a little while. I found a cute retro looking outfit that I put together featuring a dress from Valentina E Couture as a freebie at the Dead Cool Halloween Event. 
The event itself was pretty cool and I haven't gotten around to opening the 13 ghosts, that I wandered around hunting for, but as I was playing with the outfit I cammed in on my face... A picture just kinda fell into place hehe... 

I think it might have been the fact I was trying on this gorgeous skin from Sugar. Sugar made a set of pretty, but perfect for Halloween, skins as one of their prizes available at the Scary Face Gacha Fair, being hosted by the brilliant minds behind the Depraved Nation Events. I had a hard time choosing which of the skins I wanted to use, each is different and could have made this photo look like a totally different photo, but hey a girl can't use them all at once LOL - luckily if you want to see them, I can recommend the ad photo for the skins on Iokko's Flickr to show you what you might be missing! I will admit that the flames I felt drawn to did make the Dolly Skin seem a little yellower than it is, but with the glowing red eyes that IKON had as a group gift for a while and these awesome skull cherries from Pink Fuel I felt that flames were somewhat warranted!

Go Team Winchester!

For anyone that has been reading my blog for a while it will come as no surprise to hear that I love the TV series Supernatural - you might well have noticed by now that my celebrity crush just happens to be one of it's stars - Jared Padalecki. If you had no idea about this RL insight into the world beyond Rudh then SURPRISE lol!
I was perusing the marketplace looking for something in next week's colour - I KNOW it's white and I probably have heaps of stuff but browsing never hurt anyone - and stumbled upon these Mesh tops from the marketplace store, Geek-A-Doodles.

Now what caught my eye was the "Keep Calm and Call the Winchesters" Shirt... I felt they were apt ideas to remember considering the season when the dead come out to play - or should that be undead? I got an even bigger shock when I noticed a little monster had come and taken up residence from a rummage sale, upgrading his lodgings to my head... maybe it's a little roomier up there on top hehe
I do love these tops, I think they might be present at the top of my wardrobe for a while, however if you do call the Winchesters for any reason what-so-ever, do me a favour and keep them there till I can come and kidnap Sammy?
BTW - PLEASEEEEEEE don't anyone talk to me about Supernatural LOL, I am so far behind watching the series that I cannot risk anyone giving me spoilers LOL... If you want up-to-date chatter with someone about it, Fledge might be your best bet to talk to hehe...

52WOCC2 - Week 42

TEN WEEKS TO GO... oh my life we are on the downward slope to the finish line already. I remember this time in the last challenge, it seemed to be a long way off, little did we realise how fast that finish line approaches... You do realise of course that this also means Christmas isn't too far off as well... Crazy to think that huh?! 
This week's colour wasn't a good one to do - at first for me at least - I shuddered in horror when I realised that the colour was very very close to a previous colour we've had I'd say a couple of times now - but then I guess that's what makes it a challenge - can't always have it easy! I did get marginally frustrated that I had nothing to wear in my wardrobe, but then I remembered a crazy but pretty dress I'd stashed away in one of my folders - a gift from a friend who'd suggested it would be cute for the colour challenge. I tried it on and was amazed that some of the highlighting in the flowers was actually the right colour... A happy dance followed...

So I went with something a little, borderline, Halloweenish this week... I am really getting in the mood - I FREAKING LOVE HALLOWEEN! Something a little magical to spread some Halloween magic, and hey it's not a zombie look either, I am so proud of myself hehe!

Passing of Time - OH MY GAH!

I was doing a little decorating at home, trying to make the wendy house look a little more seasonally festive. Being lazy I parked myself on one of my many cute plushies that I have littered about in the garden and got to work. Hell, by the way, is threatening to put a fence around my pretty garden LOL - he says the cute is heading too far into the swamp... Try to fence me in will he mwahahahaha. 
Anyway, as I was camming around I accidentally caught an adorable picture, one I thought would be perfect to use to try out something I'd seen my daughter Niki post on Flickr...

So I took the photo and uploaded it onto the website - In20Years.com. Here you need to select your sex, and whether you want to be 20 or 30 years older, also whether you are a drug addict, and then once the photo is uploaded, the results are pretty creepy!

It's a good job in SL we stay forever young... Unless of course we want to grow older gracefully. 
If you decide to try this, I'd LOVE to see the outcome hehe... Always funny to see how our Barbies would age! Wonder if yours would be as creepy as I think mine is hehe!

A Dragon Queen's Raven Crown

Sometimes I spend so long looking at myself I wonder what else I am missing... I don't know about anyone else but I seem to spend a vast amount of time looking at my dolly and tweaking her to perfection. If it was RL, the amount of time I'd spend looking at myself would boil down to an extreme case of vanity - I guess the same could be said about it in SL too... 
Yet sometimes - usually when I venture out of hiding from the garden - other people provide a definite pull of my attention. I love seeing how different people have their own style, and things that would look terrible on me suit their avatar and personality in such a way that only a "WOW" would suffice! 
Now you may have heard me talking about my big sister Fledge in numerous other posts, but after seeing her latest glamourous look, I knew I couldn't resist working on a photo of her. 

My big sister is one of those people that pulls off looking exotic, somewhat eccentric and flamboyant on a daily basis. Seeing her in jeans and a human skin is beyond weird, and causes much discussion amongst our SL family whenever it happens, I will admit that seeing her looking extravagant definitely brings a smile to my face. This dress complete with feather stole and amazing headdress from Purple Moon, is exactly the kind of outfit that Fledge wears best. I can't think of anyone that can pull a look off like this with such ease.
This picture took a fair amount of work, it was taken when we were out looking at some new land she was thinking of renting, but after I cut her out of the background - which took a LOT longer than it should, freaking feathers LOL - fitting it all together was pretty easy... Sorry there will be no more details about what she's wearing in this outfit - if you want to know something specific please ask and I'll try to find out. It was fun to work on a photo of someone else for a while, and Fledge I'm glad that you like it! I think that it perfectly radiates the glamour that seems to pour off you - this is what I see when I look at you!!!

Monster Invasion from the D-LAB

D-LAB, D-LAB, D-LAB, You've gone and done it again... Stealing all my monies, with your adorable little pretties... This time, although normally bad, D-LAB chose to tap into my inner weakness... MONSTERS - Dammit! 

The Fifty Linden Friday item was bad enough... It's an adorable HUGE - some might say monster, my personal brain says "how could anything that cute be a monster" - Dragonish thing... The wings are missing, but the head definitely seems to look like a dragon... I know a few in SL and OK I'm not really a Dragon Expert - but this one looks like a dragon to me LOL! 
Yet it wasn't the 50L of awesome dragonish thing that made my bank account scream "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO", it was the Monsters in the Gacha Machine.
Gachas - as Fledge always tells me -  are evil, yet I fall for them every time. I LOVE these little Monsters! I know that falling for something in a gacha could be akin to putting millions into the lottery only to win a tiny part of what you entered back, but you've gotta be in it to win it I guess.. 

I HAD to have the four rezzable cuties - the three hood men and the bunny to be exact - but I got lucky and won a bat and a ghost (which I haven't shown) too! Only problem is, I got a lot of shoulder pets and head pets... Almost gave up trying to get a set of the four BUT I went back and YAY I GOT THE TWO I NEEDED! 
They now form part of my uber cute Halloween decorations in the wendy house... but I have a few spares hehe... Friends beware, you may end up falling for the cute like I did!

Floatin' on a Toxic Potty

Sometimes the toys you find in SL just have to be shared with anyone within a 10 mile radius... This is one of those times, and once again I have the amazing blog Virtual Vagabond to thank for my new toy. 
Posted yesterday, October 10th, were these amazing items that are perfect for any beach or pool... The Leaky Toilet Inner Tubes are available from katat0nik for the low, low cost of FREE, and there are two different styles available - a static seat and a drivable boat style version, at these prices why not grab both LOL! 

To team with my floating, leaky, toilet inner tube - which I will point out seems to be oozing something toxic into our swamp and makes me wonder what did the last person to use this toilet actually eat? - I put together a bit of a Zombie look. 
Now I KNOW I have said that I've been a Zombie for the past few years as Halloween rolls around, but this isn't my Halloween Costume LOL I am still working on that. This is just something I pulled outta my closet and the Sugar T-Shirt I felt warrented a special Zombie Girl Look hehe!

Look at the Pumpkins I Collected!

This time of year, when beginning with my Halloween preparations I always make sure I dig through what I had so I don't forget my old favourites. I do it with Halloween, with Christmas and sometimes if I feel bothered enough with Easter, yet most of the time my little wendy house remains stuffed full of toys without any seasonal decoration! 
However, today I felt inspired to tromp through the pumpkin patch and sort out which if any pumpkins I wanted to use to give my home that holiday feel! I will admit that I think it might be my new, and cute pumpkins from HPMD that win the right to stay out - they are adorable and fit with the overall feeling of my play house. 

I had a lot more than I realised, more than are shown within my little collection that I dropped out at home... 
I don't think Hell and I will be having a real pumpkin this year - people in Holland don't seem to celebrate it as much as I would like, but that means I will be getting my Halloween Freak on in SL... 
So I've got decorations kinda sorted, maybe we'll have a party (though we come back from England on the 31st so not sure on that yet!) and that means now all I need is a COSTUME... Time for the fun part!!!
Oh on a side note, I'm sure you've seen sometimes that people include songs in their posts... I had to share this one... I think it would be perfect music for skipping around a field choosing your pumpkins hehe. Hell won tickets to see this band in concert yesterday, I'd never heard of them before but most of their music is like this... Ladies and Gentlemen, AlascA...

52WOCC2 - Week 41

Hard to believe that next week, we'll only have 10 weeks of this round of colour challenge left... Even harder to believe that in 10 weeks we will be in 2013 - or maybe not if the world end's like the Mayan's. I'm not sure what I think about the end of the world prediction lol... Far as I know there is only ONE Maya and I don't know if anyone would be stupid enough to give her the detonate the earth button, but I may be wrong LOL... 
This week, I give a word of warning and an apology for anyone who would be slightly (or totally offended) by me being so, umm well naked! However, I had spent a few weeks, every time a pale yellowish colour came up trying to tell Fledge that she should go naked as it matched her skintone, I couldn't really get away with wearing clothes when the colour matched my skin pretty much perfectly!

Summer at the Monster Beach

Fledge took me to an awesome event... The Starlust Monster Beach Party on Two Moons Island. It was her mention of eyeball kinis that caught my attention.
Summer may be over in this part of the world, winter is fast approaching and autumn is dancing around with all the reds and the oranges screaming look-at-me, but on Monster Beach... Summer and Sunbathing still takes place! 
There are some brilliant goodies available at this place, and the setting as always on Two Moons is one of my favourite crazy places to visit, but the beach - well that's just monstrous!

I couldn't resist these eyeball kinis, created by Schadenfreude. My only issue was which colour did I want - in the end I went with green to match my own verdigris Ikon peepers! 

But then to make the look totally complete, Fledge bought me a pair of fab Toilet Earrings from U&R DOGS... These little babies actually flush!
Yet when I was about to go in for a swim, a tentacle appeared from no where and grabbed me, I nearly fell over but apparently it's the Monster Beach Parties method of stopping people getting eaten by sharks hehe!

Rainbow Sparkles and Some Yay!

Some YAY to share! 
YAY it's Wednesday - I only work part-time so that means MY WEEKEND IS HERE! YAY I finally got to play with my SL wardrobe and felt up to the challenge of digging out something to wear that I hadn't been in all week! YAY for presents! YAY for new things... Damn that's a lot of YAY!

So the photo is one of my journal entry style look at the thing I wanna show you pictures hehe... You'll know these when they are in the frames like I'd stuck them into the pages of my diary - my blog is in all essence like a glorified journal anyway! 
Three definite things of YAY to show you here... Firstly my pretty crown! This crown was a present from the awesome Miss AliceAnn of Lamp*Light. For some reason she felt compelled to give those of us who blogged her Horror Haute item a blogger crown hehe... I liked the outfit so it went into a photo, but it really feels awesome to know that she appreciated it - though next time sweetie a thank you would suffice hehe!!! *hugs*
Secondly... THE GORGEOUS BRACELET!!! KOSH has been quiet as of late, but they've put out a gorgeous collection for the new round of the Men's Department, which opens it's doors tomorrow! As with all KOSH jewellery this is unisex as male and female sizes are included, and they are available in 3 different colours - antique, old and silver! I get the feeling I will be wearing them a lot, but remember you have to wait until tomorrow for them - come on seriously it's not that long to wait hehe! 
Lastly, how could anyone miss the ADORABLE that I am cuddling! I saw these Silent Sparrow Unicorn plushies on a blog as I was scrolling through I heart SL, and was like "I NEED THAT!" Problem was when I got there, these cute mesh plushies, come in about 6 or 7 different colours and it was SO HARD to pick. In the end I went for the rainbow one, I mean seriously how could I not - I think I might even rez one in my house, as there are display versions included!
So that is the YAYness for now, I think though as I am free I should be blogging a little more, which ultimately means more yay to come!
