Summer is here and it's getting a little too hot for me. I'm not ashamed to admit that behind the avatar is a big girl - I'm nothing like Rudh in RL aside from my personality being one and the same - but when it starts heating up, I find myself starting to wither and longing for the colder weather again. Crazy right?
Still in SL I have no problems, and can run around like a headless chicken enjoying the summer 'heat'. I feel lucky in saying that it's awesome to be able to click a button and find yourself on some awesome fun beaches.
Although poor Rudh forgot her sunscreen last time she went to the beach!! Ouch!!
This time she's at the beach she's been a smart girl, she picked up some new Sunblock that she's wearing like a necklace - available from Katat0nik at Summerfest until July 20th - so that she will never be without any! So now, that she's heading to a beach party - this time at the Frisky Beaver Beach Club - she's protected... The sunburn - an applier from Izzie's by the way - still looks a little ouchies though!! Still in her super cute bikini bottoms - that are part of a set called Jasmina from Rebel Hope - and adorable sunglasses - from Suicidal Unborn, she seems more than happy to ignore the sunburn sting and offer you some pineapple - thanks to a pose called Fruity from FOXCITY which is available at SaNaRae until July 18th! Summer is finally arriving it seems, and it's HOT! After the last weekend of travelling, and then not one but two of my favourite bands in concert two nights in a row, I'm a little bit worn out! FFDP were great - even though their show was rather short - but Rob Zombie, WOW, the guy did 5 encores! He just kept coming back for more, and I was freaking loving it!!!
Today though I feel a little floppy and a lot like my head is in the clouds! I need to just take some time out and chillax!!!
Rudh's being cheeky too... My good friend Fin is away at work today, and it means that his very relaxing house is empty... THE POOL LOOKS SOOOOOOOOOO INVITING! He won't mind me using it, least I don't think he will LOL... Especially since I look so cute - wearing a Rebel Hope "Jasmina Bikini" available now at FaMESHed - floating around in his pool, I just wanna hope that I don't get any of my Pink Berry Drip Flamingo Ice Cream in the water!!
The Floatie that I'm using is actually one which comes with a pose from the awesome COME SOON Pose Store. As per usual, this "Summer Sunshine" Pose comes with not only the prop and pose - as shown here - but also a full scene in which to use it! It's always such good value for money at Come Soon. Back in December, my amazing Dutch big sister Rava got married to the wonderful Australian called Mick... HellBone refers to him as Sir Pickle, but that's a long story and one of Mick's own undoing LOL...
I had been given the honour to be a part of the wedding in more than one way... Rava asked me to be her bridesmaid... A special job that not only included being there to support her, but also be the one to get drunk for her thus calming her nerves as she couldn't lol... She was - and still is as of today - heavily pregnant!
I was also asked by the couple to be their official photographer! This did limit what I was able to do as a bridesmaid but it was such a HUGE honour! I will admit that it made me nervous, I spent the entire wedding shaking like a leaf, worried that I would miss out on one of those special and never to happen again moments! However, 250 photos and over a month later, and I was able to present the Bride and Groom with their photos...
The ceremony was gorgeous - and I am not ashamed to admit that I am NOT at all interested in SL Weddings - but Rava and Mick are very much a RL couple with only the distance keeping them away. This for them was a ceremony that meant as much as a RL wedding would, and so being a part of it was brilliant. When they read their personal vows, oh my gosh I actually shed a tear!
Nothing like the biker wedding that the majority of people were expecting, the only nod towards it being a biker wedding was the fact that the bride turned up driven by HellBone on the back of a bike, the rest was a magical fairytale of truly Disney Princess proportions.
I don't want to go into any details about certain outfits... The Bride made her dress up from two totally different gowns, and still managed to keep her usual rock-chick, Goth girl style intact...
The Bridesmaid - and Maid of Honour - dresses, however, I can talk about. I was allowed to help choosing these. It was settled that we would be dressed in gorgeous dresses from Rebel Hope called Meg, in a stunning ruby red colour that went perfectly with the settings. The accessories were personal choice, so I teamed mine with some pretty bows for jewellery and a loose messy bun...
Just a quick look at some of the many photos that I took of their wedding. They were hard work and I stressed a little from beginning to end about things, but they turned out beautifully. Mick and Rava were happy, that makes me happy...
