Sometimes you discover a new designer, and sometimes that new designer just seems to fall into your lap. Now I know that my friend Dark isn't what I would call a new designer - he's been around creating things for a while but his venture into clothing is something that has only been going on for a little while and although I've been given bikes to play with, anyone that knows me will know I LOVE clothes - and even more specifically SHOES!
I pulled on an outfit to go with the brand new Rebel Chain Boots that he passed me, I teamed them with a pair of his shorts, and the outcome seemed a little Sci-Fi... Things just evolved from there hehe...
So as I mentioned the shorts and the boots - which come in three different colours and are perfect for the girl who loves the chunky army boot style! - are from my friend Dark's store, DarkAngel Creations. Who says you can't be a blogger and help out your friends with a little promotion huh? Hehe! I kept the rest of the look fairly simple, pulling on an old top from Sassy Kitty Designs - shows you just how old the top is right? SAKIDE hasn't been SKD for a while LOL - and some awesome socks with garters from League. Then I accessorised pulling my hair back with the spiked headband, and this gorgeous necklace called London Time from Maxi Gossamer, and all I needed was my favourite little gun and I was ready to stalk my favourite DarkAngel through the Sci-Fi style warehouse at Neon Origami...

Monday came and went again, and that can only mean one thing... Another Meme! I love Monday's -weird saying that I know - but every week Berry rolls out a fun meme to keep our minds working on our little blog spaces. I'm not even sure people read my ramblings, but I love getting working on the posts and while I have the memes to work on every week I don't see myself stopping any time soon! So, thanks Berry!
On to this week's Meme then... We're heading full speed ahead into the Winter Season at the moment. It has taken hold in both RL and SL, though I have often wondered how weird it must be for people in the Southern Hemisphere to be thinking about the cold in SL when they are heading into Summer... Anyway, Berry has themed her Meme this week about the cold season and so I am using it as an excuse to tell you all about the new and awesome weather system that Hell has just set up at our home!
This weather system is the brain child of the man behind the Dwelling Quay store. He has created weather that is lag free, low prim count AND gorgeously verified. At the moment, the sim is set up for snow, but you really need to see it rain!! Oh my gosh I love the rain effects! I feel biased in saying something about it, my daughter Kenzee has just become his customer service representative, but really even without that I would rave about this product. You need to see it to believe, I was the same. We have a bike track on our land - a place where large groups of bikers will come to ride en mass, now these groups have a lot of scripted bikes and therefore cause a fairly large lag spike when they arrive, and we were worried that the system might make it worse... IT DOESN'T!!! I KNOW I AM AS SHOCKED AS YOU!!
OK enough of a sales pitch - thought seriously go check it out LOL - but time to move on to Berry's Questions...
What is the December/Winter season like where you live? – The Winter Season here seems to vary. At the moment there is a chill in the air but it feels crisp, not too cold - nothing that a warm coat cannot protect you from at any rate. The sun is shinning though so that makes everything seem pretty. We do get a LOT of rain here, and it will usually snow in January. Amsterdam is gorgeous in the snow, that is until it melts and starts to become like brown slush hehe...
When you think of winter, what’s the first thing that pops into your head? – I love Autumn for the colours, but as soon as Winter starts to rear it's head I start thinking about wishing I could hibernate like other animals LOL... Seriously the dark nights and the dark mornings do make me feel a little sad.
Have you ever played any extreme winter sports? – Pft NO lol... I'm one of those people you'd see at a Ski resort spending all their time sitting around in the lodge with a cup of hot cocoa and a good book... In fact let me just skip the ski resort and stay home with the book?
What do you like most about this season? – Definitely not the snow, I am far too paranoid about falling over! I do however love that feeling of being allowed to snuggle up warm. I love having PJ days and staying in reading my books - in case you hadn't already noticed hehe!
Do you celebrate Christmas, Hannukkah, Kwanzaa or another holiday during this time of year? – I love Christmas. Well not actually Christmas itself - if I'm being honest - I love the run up to Christmas when things are feeling festive and pretty, and I love the day after Christmas when you can veg out and just enjoy some good television... Christmas Day itself can often be something of a let down after all the hard work you put into it, but I love that week before Christmas when everything is feeling sparkly!

Not mine before anyone asks, my big sister Juli and Brother-in-Law Rod are finally tying the knot on Saturday. She asked me if I could help her out by taking a photo for their invitations... How could I say no?!
The final picture worked out better than I had thought it might... I always worry a little when someone asks me to take a picture for them, especially when it is for one that is going to be used in this way, but after much stressing about lighting, rain effects - thanks to HellBone's ultimate weather system that I will be talking about later on in another post - and finding just the right pose. The pose I found was one from Magnifique Poses - available on the Marketplace - and it was perfect for the rainy shot that Julz wanted. Well OK originally she wanted snow, but I said no to the snow LOL... I couldn't have pulled a look off like this in the snow and I am so glad we stuck with rain instead... There is nothing more romantic to me than cuddling up in the rain hehe...
Archaeology is a passion of mine. So much so that I went to University and got myself a degree in the subject - I can kinda boastfully say that I have a bachelors degree in Archaeology with a specialization in the Medieval period to boot - and I could and do rabbit on about history and archaeology for HOURS at a time if I am provoked! There is a point to this rambling by the way, bear with me I am getting there lol...
Anyway, as I might have mentioned a few times before, The Arcade is open - can you tell I am getting a little twitchy about wanting to be in there yet? - and whilst I was looking through the items one set caught my eye a little more than some of the others... Can you tell where the opening ramble was going yet?
If you've looked at the Shopping Guide you will notice that Consignment is the one that has opened the flood gates on this ramble due to their awesome creations.
I knew I couldn't resist setting up a mini excavation area in our garden swamp, it felt so perfect excavating the huge T-Rex skull, it was like being in a Lost World movie hehe... The discovery that the Gators were not the first reptiles to wander
through our little swamp was a bit of a shock, but my archaeologist
instincts kicked in and out came my little trowel hehe... I was already dressed in what I might have worn on site - OK so maybe not the teeny weeny skirt and heels, but the loose shirt and chunky boots are a must!
My only little quibble with the collection is that its dinosaur bones and not human remains... I mean Archaeology is a much prettier word, but when Dinosaurs are concerned it's Palaeontology as Archaeology is human related hehe... But then maybe I'm the only one that will think about that, and even then it is only because I am 100% geek about the subject lol...

OK so as I said I am going to be keeping myself busy blogging all kinds of different things in an attempt to stop myself going mad until The Arcade chaos calms down, and luckily I have some really cute things stashed away ready to share!
This outfit is one of those things, and I warn you now, it is NOTHING like my normal style! Even when I am not wearing something dark and zombie styled, I tend to dress a little more crazily, yet one of the key items in this look called for something a little more... OK well a little less Rudh!
The sweater was the thing that caused the deviation from my normal style. One of the things I love about blogging is that I can play around and try a variety of things, if they don't work then OK but least I can actually hold my hands up and say yes I tried it and no I don't like it... So anyway, the sweater, this is a new release from Mag<3.B. and although it is not entirely my style I love the colour combination and the girlishness that comes from the colours. A collection of these was released last week and they all come in cute combinations ranging from pastels to a dark green and red one with a very festive feel... I clung on to the Autumn feeling and went for one that was Apple coloured. I teamed it with a gorgeous and OH-SO-USEFUL skirt from FANATIK, that I modded the colour of. It's definitely one of my favourite staples in my wardrobe!
I accessorised with this uber-cute Hedgehog Clutch from SNOWBOA. I've had it stashed away in my inventory for a while, but I figured this was the right look to wear with something like this. Then moving down, my shoes! I fell in love with these shoes from League when I saw them at Shoetopia, and I knew I had to have them - there was just one little flaw in the works. The shoes are made for SLink feet, not the flat feet that I had but the medium feet that I didn't. At first I wasn't happy thinking I'd have to buy feet just so I could buy the shoes, but it seems that a lot of places are now making shoes to fit these feet, so in the end if I want the shoes then I have to look at the feet as an investment. It came down to did I want the shoes, YES, so I needed the feet!

The Arcade has opened it's doors for the December round, and my goodness looking at the shopping guide on their blog has made me positively drool... I have even started writing a list of the things I want - sorry Santa you aren't getting a list this year, my only list is a shopping list for the Arcade!
Still luckily for me, I was able to get my hands on the gorgeous Penguins before the even opened, thanks to the awesomeness that is Miss Aime Takaai - MishMish's owner!
These little penguins are SO CUTE, it almost makes me want to fill our little garden with snow... Not that a swamp full of snow is a good idea - I mean no one wants frozen Gators - but maybe just maybe I can freeze some of the water around my house hehe...
This little penguin however went for a trip to visit his family, who had just taken on jobs at Santa's Workshop... Santa's Workshop is a place that will REALLY get you into a Christmas mood.
The avatar that I have on is a rare prize from the MishMish Penguin Gacha that is available now at the new round of The Arcade, that is if you can get in there it is available now, otherwise things will be available until the end of the month. Lots of interesting things to come your way I hope... First off this random look I pulled together that started with the eyes and became something straight out of crazy land.
The eyes are available now from SongBird, as a prize in the Invitation Only Hunt, and come with the gorgeous eye make-up that gives the pretty Winter Fae it's little sparkle of magic. It struck me as a little bit icy, but more sky-like so I had a flash of inspiration. I dug out the Jackalope ears and antlers from Half Deer that have been gathering dust until I could find a suitable look for them. I teamed that with some very girlie coloured hair that was a past hunt prize from Ploom, it's pinks and purples providing a subtle flicker of colour. The last little hint towards the clouds and their magic is the gorgeous necklace - one of my favourite pieces of jewellery ever -from League. The Daydream Necklace can be worn with or without moving clouds and in single, double or triple strands of picture frames as seen here!
Thank you though to Miss Nimil Blackflag, of SongBird, because without her I'd have not had the eyes and I'd have not been able to find something to occupy my mind and get over the shakes hehe!!!
